dbaker > kinda blurry shot but it shows the jungle vines and lighting. i found green paper lanterns at cost plus for overhead lighting. to make it feel like we were in the jungle i found camo netting at the local army surplus store and cut it all up to make vines. i loved how it looked and have used this vine idea for other things as well, mainly halloween. i add it to our trees to give them a weeping willow spooky look.

dbaker > the completed table without the food. we had baskets, bags, and stone bowls that held the food.
dbaker > the party had a story line although most guests were unaware of it - it was mostly to help me set the scene while decorating. the idea was that a pirate ship was sinking and the pirates jumped ship using smaller rowboats to get to shore with all their booty. when they hit land they find themselves in a small town where they promptly begin to pillage and plunder, terrorizing the villagers. this picture shows one of the rowboats as it came up on shore.
