Halloween 2007 Gourley Manor Party Pics : Pictures from our 2007 Halloween Party. This year we had about 80 guests. Our theme was based on an old Victorian mansion that was being ruled by some paranormal occupants. More of a story line can be find by checking out the invitation pictures We served a traditional style dinner...turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies and breads. Before dinner we passed appetizers (check out our cute servers in the pictures) We played a great game (I wish I had pictures) Groups of guests had to search our neighborhood for ghosts that are unable to leave this life because they still have unfinished business. We had placed old victorian portraits (found at antique stores) around our neighborhood. The photos were accompanied by poems that gave clues as to what each ghosts unfinished business was and also clues to an object that was needed to help the ghost pass through to the next life. For instance there was a portrait of a girl all dressed in white. Her poem contained clues to the fact that all she wanted in life was a engagement ring from her beau. Once guests figured out the clue they would have to return to the party area and find the object. We had placed the objects throughout the party area (they fit in with all our decor) Once the object was found the guests could go and find the next ghost. The idea came from a great website www.questexperiences.com I have used many of their treasure hunts and have loved them all. We made some slight variations to the ghost hunt to fit our needs.
